Scalzotto Italian Restaurant in Broomfield delivers a straightforward Northern Italian dining experience with a focus on hearty, well-crafted dishes. Situated in a modest shopping center on Lamar Street, it’s the kind of place that draws a crowd, especially evenings and weekends, with a steady buzz that reflects its steady local following.

The atmosphere leans toward casual but with a touch of traditional Italian warmth. It’s not a place for rushing; service can be slow at times, so it’s better suited for those who want to linger over their meal rather than a quick bite. The layout and lighting feel comfortable rather than flashy, making it a solid pick for relaxed dinners or small group gatherings where the food is the main event.

On the menu, you’ll find classics done well—such as the lasagna, a deeply satisfying pasta packed with rich flavors, and standout items like chicken parmigiana and chicken marsala. For those interested in exploring beyond the usual, the ravioli with pear puree offers a sweet and savory twist, and the Caprese salad often draws praise for its freshness and presentation. The seafood dishes, including the Fra Diavola, add a bit of variety for seafood lovers.

Scalzotto is also a spot where wine lovers can appreciate a thoughtful selection that pairs well with the menu’s hearty, rustic flavors. For dessert, traditional Italian sweets like tiramisu and cannoli provide a fitting, satisfying end to the meal.

Families, couples, and anyone who enjoys solid Italian fare without a formal dining fuss will find something to appreciate here. The modest space fills up quickly, suggesting an active neighborhood interest. Weekend dinners tend to be busy, so early evenings or weekday visits might offer a calmer experience.

In summary, Scalzotto is best for those looking to enjoy genuine, no-frills Northern Italian dishes in a down-to-earth environment, where portions are generous and ingredients feel thoughtfully chosen. It’s a neighborhood spot to settle into a comfortable meal, whether it’s for a casual date night or a family dinner.

We stopped in for dinner while my daughter was working. Probably the best Caprese I’ve ever had and it was presented beautifully. My husband said the mushroom soup was delicious. I throughly enjoyed the pasta. My husband ate the meatballs and I had his broccolini. Service was on the slow side, empty drinks and a bit of a wait for the check. Bottom line - the food was delicious!

The place was packed which is a good sign. The food was very good. The best chicken fettuccine Alfredo I’ve had in a long time. The bread and oil for dipping was top notch.

Italian food, big portions and high quality service. You won’t be disappointed. I recommend their Chicken dishes!

The drinks and the food were amazing. We had the strawberry puree drink, the blackberry sage drink, and the spritz drink. Along with the fiori de zuc (sp?), which was amazing. Didn’t know you could eat zucchini flowers. Finished off with a chicken Caesar salad and the ravioli spinach and ricotta. Ashlee B. did an amazing job serving us. All around, an extremely pleasant experience for our 5-year wedding anniversary dinner while out of town from Dallas. Thank you, staff!

Great spot for a delicious meal out. We got two kinds of bruschetta that were outstanding; the prosciutto + fig and mortadella + pistachio. Had a delicious salad with castelvetrano olives and pesto dressing, the Spaghetti w/ Clams and Chicken Marsala. Loved that they serve an N/A Peroni with a chilled mug. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. Can’t wait to come back and bring my family.

Cozy little restaurant with great authentic food! Pictured are the fritto misto, chicken scaloppine, pear ravioli, and panna cotta. All were fantastic but the pear ravioli is a must try given the unusual ingredients that work so well together.
